Wake up Milan
Due to the two losses it has been somewhat difficult to write as the frustration has got the better of me. However it is time to turn the frustration into words as there are several things that stick out after the defeat in Sicily and last night's defeat at the hands of Lazio.
Despite the fact that Milan have developed a new a history of struggling in Palermo it is unacceptable for a team like Milan to have lost the way they have. There are several players injured however that doesn't take away the fact that there is depth to this rossoneri side. The players are tired and slow and couldn't seem to manage to keep up with Ballardini's men. The rosanero read Milan like a book and they played to their strengths in order to break Milan down, not to mention they had an amazing Amelia in goal proving his worth over and over again.
Amelia has been in the back of my mind since that game and its only frustrating to know that Milan missed out on their opportunity to sign him. For years the fans have been wanting to sign a new goalkeeper and Amelia was practically begging at Galliani's door not so long ago. As the story of Milan usually goes they don't sign the players that they need. Amelia had an amazing game against Milan saving 'Dinho's penalty in the first half and nearly saving his second penalty too, while he also made a string of terrific saves. Still begging the question as to why Milan didn't sign him?!?!
Another thing would be after seeing Ronaldinho take the penalty is when was the last time Milan scored a goal in open play? Goals from penalty's and free-kicks have been at large but it seems that Milan hardly seem to be scoring goals from open play.
And when all looks lost they seem to rely on Ronaldinho to save them. How long can that last? Who knows if 'Dinho will pick up an injury or loose form, hopefully with Shevchenko returning to scoring last night the chances of goals being scored will be improved.
Lastly the defence has to be brought up. In the second goal for Palermo where was Milan's defence? There were three players in the box against Lazio's two and yet Simplicio still managed to find himself unmarked in between a triangle of Milan players. The defending was beyond poor and it's time not only for the defence but for the whole team to wake up.
