A Milanista World cup
With seven Milan players set to play in the World Cup, Milanisti all over will be keeping a sharp eye at the performances of the rossoneri. Special focus will be placed on Oguchi Onyewu and Dominic Adiyiah who are yet to establish themselves in the team.
Oguchi Onyewu made only one appearance for Milan in August last year after suffering a serious injury that kept him out for the whole of last season. Rated as one of the USA's brightest prospects Boo Bradley showed his faith in Onyewu and included him in the World Cup squad.
It proved to be a brilliant decision as Onyewu, along with Tim Howard, where the two stars of last night's performance against England. Onyewu was an absolute pillar in the heart of the USA defense keeping Rooney and Crouch at bay. This, along with spectacular saves by Howard, saw the USA hold England to a 1-1 draw.
Onyewu certainly proved to the Milan fans why management bought him and they will certainly keep a closer watch after his impressive display on Saturday night.
Dominic Adiyiah is an unknown player for Milanisti and to most football fans. At the tender age of 20, Adyiah was playing in the African Cup of Nations in January, where he caught the eye Galliani and Braida.
Signed by the Via Turati outfit in January, the Ghanaian is yet to feature for the rossoneri. However; following his fine form in the competition in January he was selected for the World Cup squad. Adiyiah is set to make his fifth appearance for Ghana against Serbia in Sunday's World Cup game.
Milan's Curva Sud will be reviewing each Milan player either before or after the game.
