Rossoneri nudge past Napoli to go top
Milan are back in top position for the first time in four years, when they last won the scudetto. It is the only time Milan have won the scudetto under Carlo Ancelotti and this season they are certainly proving that they are one of the title contenders.
The rossoneri managed a narrow 1-0 win over Napoli last night to ensure top spot with one point ahead of Udinese and Inter. It was a hard fought out win as Napoli held on tight despite Christian Maggio being sent off in the first half. Chances came and went for
the rossoneri as Kaka hit the up-right as well as missing a penalty while Pato headed just short of goal.
However, it was Ronaldinho that stole the show late on as he stepped up to take a free-kick which saw Denis deflect in the ball into his own net to add to Napoli's unlucky evening. The azzurri have been in fine form and a win for either side would have taken them on top but it was the rossoneri's turn to take the lead inflicting Napoli's first loss of the season.
Edy Reja's men can still keep their heads held high as they take on Sampdoria this weekend, who only managed their first win on the weekend against Torino.
But it is the rossoneri who are in the lime-light and the pressure is on to perform in top quality; something that has been lacking a bit of late. The diavoli know what's at stake and they should go into each game with a winning mentality.
Forza Milan!!
