Oscar del Calcio Nominees have been announced

The nominees for last season's Oscar del Calcio awards have been announced and it has seen last year's three time winner Fabio Cannavaro dropped from the list. Last year Cannavaro walked away with the best Defender, Best Italian Player and the best over all player, but it looks like no one will dominate these awards like he did.

Fiorentina is the team that is the best represented with four nominations, thanks to their young guns and their two foreigners in fine form, Sebestian Frey and Adrian Mutu. Roma, Inter and Milan both have three players each to their name with Guiseppe Rossi bringing Villareal into the set up.

No Juventus players have been called up due to them spending last season in Serie B therefore this time the goalkeepers will stand a better chance of taking the crown as Gigi Buffon is not nominated. The World Cup winner has won it five times in the last six seasons.

Here are the nominations:
Best Italian Player: Daniele De Rossi (Roma), Andrea Pirlo (Milan), Francesco Totti (Roma)
Best Foreign Player: Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Inter), Kaka (Milan), Adrian Mutu (Fiorentina)
Best Goalkeeper: Sebastien Frey (Fiorentina), Julio Cesar (Inter), Angelo Peruzzi (Lazio)
Best Youngster: Riccardo Montolivo (Fiorentina), Giampaolo Pazzini (Fiorentina), Giuseppe Rossi (Villarreal)
Best Defender: Marco Materazzi (Inter), Philippe Mexes (Roma), Alessandro Nesta (Milan)
Who do you think will win?

If it was only performance in Serie A in 2007 (which its supposed to be, I think) would pick

Totti
Ibrahimovic
Frey
Pazzini
Nesta

But im sure reputation, politics and fame will come in to it

Good picks! I would go
Totti, Frey, Rossi, Nesta.

I can't choose best foreigner... just can't but it will probably go between Kaká and Ibra. People will remember Kaká's C.L performances when placing their votes/
