Being a Milanista

To be a true Milanista, or any other REAL supporter of team it's hard. But to be a Milanista it has been hard in the last few years, our loss to Liverpool in the Champions League final in 2005 in Istanbul (man, it feels like yesterday), was one that hardly any Milanista has recovered from and it still haunts us today. Milan being brought into last years calciopoli investigation. Having our team found guilty for match fixing was no easy task to deal with, and many jumped ship from that, but I stayed on. And especially this season, has been tough. At the beginning of this season Milan struggled to find form, they lost games, and had many injuries, and for a certain period of time, we couldn't help think whether or not our beloved team were going to get relegated or not.

We couldn't understand what had driven this team to play like this, it was a tough few weeks, and luckily Milan managed to turn their miserable start to the season, into something beautiful. Milan are currently sitting 4th in the league standing with a possibility of finishing 3rd, the team looks to have revived themselves, and are also the only remaining Italian and non-English team in this season's semi-finals for Champions League.

What looked to be a horrible season has certainly turned around, and Milan are looking strong again. It was hard to stay a milan fan, but the people that stayed with Milan are the real fans, and I for one am SO proud of this team. Critics where buzzing around the vintage ground of the San Siro and all Milan could do was sit back and try and hope for a miracle.

Nevertheless as Milan have proved on numerous occasions that they can still be one of the best, they did it again. This is the exact thing that makes us love Milan, and stay loyal to this club. Their ability to get out of a slump and rise to the occasion, I mean who would ever have thought that we would still be in this season's Champions League?

Milan play with passion, a vintage style and faith. What was gone has now returned and us Milanisti are always behind them 100% of the way.

To be a Milanista, it requires passion, knowledge, faith, patience and a heart that bleeds red and black. And the people that possess these qualities are amazing, Milanisti per sempre. (Milanisti for ever)

It is never easy to always be 100% behind your team, as no team can stay on top forever, but with a bit of faith and passion teams will believe that they can certainly try and do that.

I am proud to be a Milanista, and everyone else who has been through troubles with their teams, and remained faithful deserve to carry the title of their team with them.
