Milan: The Goalkeepers
The position between the sticks has been a problem for the rossoneri for some time now, as 
Dida was always prone to blunders and injuries, Kalac lacked the first team experience for a team like Milan and well Fiori had only made one Serie A appearance for Milan in about 7 plus years.... This is not acceptable for a team ranked number one in Europe.
So after a disastrous season Galliani and co finally realised that the Italian veterans really needed a make over and so it began.... Valerio Fiori retired and has now taken over as the assistant goalkeeping coach for Milan; always keeping it in the family. While Marco Storari left Cagliari for Fiorentina Milan decided to bring back Christian Abbiati who, so far, has impressed everyone with his pre-season form.
During the Tim Cup he and his fellow teammate Kalac imp
ressed when it came to the penalty shoot-out against Inter and Juventus but it was also on the field were Abbiati shined too. He made endless saves, including one off the line, and saved three penalties to earn Milan this years Tim Cup.
In the word's of Adriano Galliani: " It will be an interesting challenge for the number one spot." And so it will be. It has been a while since Milan have had someone contesting Dida for the number one jersey and now there are three players! Who will win the number one jersey?
