Inter's Stumble Leave Milan in Prime Position!

Expect the unexpected some would say but who would have thought that Catania would beat Inter 3-1 on Friday evening? Yes, it happened! Mourinho's men finally faltered and the Sicilians did well to pounce on this opportunity gifting Milan the perfect chance to reduce Inter's lead to just one point.

Now it all sounds so easy when you take it at face value. Milan are to play Chievo, at the San Siro. Simple as that? I think not. Milan are an extremely weakened side and come into the game humiliated following their annihilation to the hands of Manchester United. It will be the first time they will play in front of their home fans since their eliminations of the Champions League, and who knows what sort of crowd the rossoneri could face this evening.

But this should stand as an incentive for Leonardo and his players to prove their worth and increase their chances of a Scudetto. Should they not capitalise on Inter's loss tonight then it should be safe to say that this rossoneri side will have no hope in winning the league at all.

With the loss of Nesta, Bonera and Antonini in defence Leo will be forced in to bring back Oddo and Zambrotta; who are still not 100% fit. Pato remains out of action leaving it all for Borriello and Ronaldinho to do the work.

Chievo are undoubtedly no push overs and they will do their best to hold tight and keep the Via Turati outfit at bay. Only time will tell what fate has in store for Milan.
