Two Huge Blows for the Rossoneri

It has been a tough week for Leonardo after loosing two very influential players to injury; as Alessandro Nesta and David Beckham both saw their season end prematurely.

These injuries couldn't have come at a worse time for the two players as Nesta was back to his old self and playing the best football he has played in a while, whilst Beckham was looking well on his way to playing in his fourth world cup with England in South Africa.

Undoubtedly Nesta is Milan's best defender to lead them on the chase for the Scudetto and the tear to his popliteal tendon (tendon behind the knee) has seen him ruled out for two months. It is unlikely that he should return in time for the last few games of the season.

A huge loss to Milan's backline, who are struggling to bring back Zambrotta, Bonera and Antonini into full fitness, while Abate also remains a doubt for the crucial game against Napoli on Sunday.

While David Beckham's plight to return to the English set-up was also brought to an abrupt halt as he tore his Achilles tendon on Sunday's game against Chievo, seeing the rossoneri reduce the gap between Inter to one point.

Nevertheless, Becks will undoubtedly play an influential role for the English side as it is said that he will still travel with the side and perform all his ambassador duties. The biggest question for English fans now is who will be able to fill in Beckham's place in the squad.
