Gattuso Fit To Face Roma

Relief has struck the Rossoneri camp as it seems that Gennaro Gattuso has recovered in time to face Roma on Saturday evening in what will be the last game of the year. The midfielder was set to miss the match on Saturday following an injury to his right calf which he suffered against Bologna in the Diavoli’s 3-0 triumph.

It was expected that the World Cup Winner would be out for no less than ten days but as per Gattuso standards he has beaten the odds once again and has recovered in time for the match seeing him complete a full training session on Thursday morning.

Training took place at the usual Milanello grounds under the sun where Massimiliano Allegri took them through the usual drills and stretching while finishing off with a friendly match between the players. The Fighting Bulldog managed to complete the full training session in fine form and is set to take on the Lupi of Rome.

The return of Gattuso is a huge relief to Allegri who suddenly found himself short of players as the injury list seems to be growing with every passing game. Nevertheless Gattuso’s perfectly timed return will put the player’s minds as ease with the knowledge that they have their hard fighting midfielder at the helm; ready to gather and clean up any lose balls.

It is unlikely that Gattuso will start the game on Saturday evening at the San Siro; nevertheless he is a perfect substitution for being able to provide the Rossoneri with an extra element of defence and force should the need arise. There is no doubt that he will have an impact on his teammates come match day be it on and off the field.
