Pirlo Out For Four Weeks

Milan's injury crisis continues to grow as Andrea Pirlo has joined the continuously growing list of casualities at Milanello this winter. The midfielder suffered this set back during Saturday evening's game against Roma seeing the Giallorossi win 1-0.

Trilly, as known to Milanisti, was taken off during the first half after a tackle by Matteo Brighi seeing him complain about his right thigh. Tests were conducted today at the Medical Centre in Milanello which proved that the 31-year-old had indeed suffered a muscular strain to his right thigh.

This set-back comes at a time where the players are able to go on a two week break before returning to playing on January 6, however; it is unlikely that Pirlo will feature in the first few games of the year as his injury has an estimated time period of four weeks.

Despite the injury Milan have announced that Pirlo will be joining the Rossoneri squad in Dubai for training before the Serie A season restarts. The Rossoneri will be in Dubai come the New Year for a warmer climate and more adequate training conditions.

Alexandre Pato and Matthieu Flamini should also return come the New Year adding extra depth into the squad. Should Pirlo recover in time he may make it back for the game against Lecce on January 16.
