A tough task awaits the Azzurri

Donadoni has made history for the Azzurri after becoming the first coach to beat France in 90minutes of football since 1978, a feat that not even Italy's World Cup winning coach Marcello Lippi managed.

After seeing his career flash before his eyes, after two poor displays in the Euro, Roberto Donadoni finally managed to get the players together and pull out a famous 2-0 win to see them qualify for the quarter finals while France and Romania were sent packing.

The joy of the players was inevitable as they all ambushed Daniele De Rossi after his superb free-kick which saw Thierry Henry deflect the ball into his own net.
With the 2-0 lead in both Italy's and Holland's game, celebrations erupted from Zurich all the way to Italy and all over the World. The World Champions had qualified!!!

It was no easy task and the next game against Aragones' Spain will certainly be no easy task for the Azzurri. But the players will have to dig deep and find that spirit that carried them through the dark times as this quarter final will prove the hardest match yet, with both Gennaro Gattuso and Andrea Pirlo out for the must-win tie.

Both players will be serving their bans after picking up two yellow cards and the Milan midfield pair will surely be missed. Their absence will call for more work from De Rossi and Ambrosini while Aquilani could be brought into the picture to replace Andrea Pirlo.

The game promises to be a classic and the fans cannot wait for Sunday evening. But its time to forget celebrating and to get on with the preparations. FORZA ITALIA
