Rossoneri Fall in Madrid

It was never going to be easy for the seven times champions, Milan, as they took on a strong Real Madrid side at the Bernabeau last night, seeing them fall 2-0 to Mourinho's men.

The Rossoneri came into the game after a string of several wins but had to make do without two key players in the shape of Abbiati and Thiago Silva; seeing Marco Amelia and Daniele Bonera step in for the injured players respectively.

Silva's loss clearly felt as the rossoneri lacked pace and precision as well having the defence all over the field: unable to close off the likes of Ronaldo and Angel Di Maria. While Real Madrid were fast, played with rythm and urgency, totally outplaying the once feared Italian giants.

The first goal for Madrid came after Pato foolishly gave away a free-kick right in front of goal. Depsite having every single Milan player forming the wall Ronaldo's bullet still managed to find a gap, shooting it straight into the back of the net.

Moments later, in what is becoming common for Milan, the defence made an error which allowed Di Maria too take a shot at goal. The ball hit Daniele Bonera's shoulder and deflected into the back of the net, summing up what was a miserable night for Bonera and Allegri's men.

With Milan's loss and Ajax's win the table is now looking extramely challenging for the rossoneri and a win from each game is a must. Although it is still early days for Allegri in the Champions League failure to qualify would not be acceptable by Milan fans.
