Have No Fear, Milan Is Here

Following Inter's 5-3 win over Roma last night, fans are in fear that Milan's situation at the top of the table is starting to look more like a potential horror story than a fairytale Scudetto triumph. After having secured a great lead over Lazio, Napoli, and rivals Inter the Rossoneri looked set to march on to gain their 18th Serie A title.

However after the Christmas break players started to drop like flies as injury after injury struck the team seeing the likes of Nesta, Pato and Pirlo all having to sit on the sidelines. With Pato having finally returned, Milan are still struggling to recover their players on time.

The defence has practically been non-existent with no Nesta, Abate, Antonini nor new signing Legrottaglie while the midfield has taken a knock too with Kevin- Prince Boateng, Seedorf, Pirlo and Ambrosini all out. Inevitably the loss of Nesta and Pirlo has provided Milan with the biggest struggle as their is no stable creative play maker for the side, while Nesta holds the back line together with his experience and leadership.

It is no wonder with no less than 10 injuries to the squad that Allegri has seen his side's lead fall to just three points with a possibility of Inter bringing it even closer to just two points. However; it is not all gloom and doom new signings have provided Milan with some fresh legs and new inspiration in the shapes of Cassano, Emanuelson, and Van Bommel. In addition Pirlo's likely come-back against Parma this coming weekend also provides a string of hope. It is only a matter of time until the Diavoli strike back and return to winning ways!
