Superpippo strikes three past Livorno to bring Milan closer to fourth!

Pippo Inzaghi and Clarence Seedorf helped Milan to close the gap between Fiorentina for fourth spot after their 4-1 drubbing of Livorno on Sunday.

The rossoneri have been struggling for results at late but have finally started to look like their old selves again with the return of hat-trick hero Pippo Inzaghi. Pippo's return, which coincided with Kaka's return from injury, has seen Carlo Ancelotti's men play in a more fluid style and scoring more goals than ever; with nine goals scored in two games and just two conceded.

Milan's vital win over Livorno saw them move two points behind Fiorentina in fourth place after La Viola failed to maintain their 2-1 lead over Samporia resulting in a 2-2 draw.

The diavoli still have a tough road ahead of them as they still have to play, Inter, Napoli and Udinese to bring their unsuccessful campaign to an end. All three games is a must win as the rossoneri cannot afford another slip-up as Fiorentina are in great form and are hungry for that European spot.

Next week Milan will host Inter in the Derby della Madonnina in which the rossoneri will be out for revenge after failing to beat Inter in the past two years. This game will not only be a potential fourth spot decider but also a potential decider for the scudetto.

Roma are still mathematically in the title challenge and they will be hoping for a rossoneri victory while Milan will also be eager to destroy the nerazzurri's title hopes.

Pre-match build-up to the derby to follow this week....

I didnt see much of the game but Pippo's first goal looked well offside. However, as you say, much will depend on the Milan derby this weekend. As a Viola I hope for an Inter victory but to make the Nerazzurri sweat I would like to see the Rossoneri triumph...
