Christmas wish list

Christmas is here and it's time to put our team wishes on paper. For Milan it's should be a simple task as a team of this standard should be providing the fans everything they desire, however, the rossoneri have been some what short of their old selves. However, after the display against Udinese it is difficult to compile a wish list as every thing was next to nearly perfect by Ancelotti and his men. Though it was one game and you can never judge a season on one game alone.

The attack was undeniably good but for most of the season they have battled to score more than two goals per game. Hopefully with some experience of playing alongside each other they have now learnt how each one plays. Though more practise must be done to ensure a strong attack in every game.

In defence there has been several p
roblems with injury, age and lack of concentration and it has to be said that young reinforcements need to be brought in. With them being brought in they will have at least some time to learn from the likes of Maldini and of course when Nesta returns.

Another wish would be to win the Uefa Cup but of course that can only be obtained through consistent, hard working, displays of football where the defence is functioning just as well as the attack and the midfield is providing it all it can. A team like Milan should be in the Champions League and not in the Uefa Cup therefore, it is only right that they win or at least make it to the final for a team of their standard.

One thing that the fans have been longing for is another Scudetto triumph. Since 2004 Milan have only been concentrating on the Champions League as they lost way in the league race but this season, despite being nine pints behind, a catch up to Inter can be done. However, the players will have to give it their all for 90minutes every single game.

And for the Nazionale fans out there a win in the Confederations Cup would also be great. It would be a great confidence booster for the World Cup ahead in 2010. And following the disappointing Euro trip the Azzurri have got to prove themselves once more as the World Cup holders when they enter the Confederations Cup for the first time in their history.

So new signings in defence and a young player in midfield as well as new tactics, will hopefully lead to at least a UEFA Cup or Scudetto triumph. And not to forget Italy's campaign in South Africa where hopefully they can triumph against the likes of Brazil and Egypt.

Buon Natale a tutti!
