Gran Finale in store!

There are five weeks to go until the 2008/09 season comes to an end, and Serie A fans will have a an exciting end to the year. There are at least six teams still bidding to secure safety in Serie A for at least another year, the battle for Europe has began, while against all odds the scudetto is still potentially up for grabs.

In the Europa Cup surprise package Cagliari stand a great chance of making it for the first time since their semi-final campaign in 1993-4. While Roma look set for a spot outside the prestigious Champions League while Fiorentina and Genoa head for a battle for fourth spot.

The race for the Scudetto is back on as Roberto Donadoni lead his Napoli to their first victory since January against Inter, allowing for Milan to close the gap to seven points. Mourinho's men have been far from convincing at late with off field feuds between players and coaching staff disrupting group cohesion.

The rossoneri can't smile just yet, as they have still to play tough opposition in the last four weeks. Juventus, Roma, Fiorentina and Udinese are not ready to surrender to anyone just yet and they will no doubt put pressure on Ancelotti and the boys.

While on the other end of the table Lecce, Reggina and Bologna looks set to return to Serie B; however, Torino, Chievo and even Siena are not safe yet. The relegation battle will no doubt go down to the wire.

It will be an interesting end to the season as huge upsets could potentially be on the cards for many clubs. Prepare yourself for a goal fests, tears of joy and sorrow, it will no doubt be a memorable one.
