Emirates Cup

Milan have lost out on their first possible trophy this season as they failed to win one game in the Emirates Cup, seeing the rossoneri finish last in the tournament.

The Emirates is an annual two-day preseason tournament in that helps set the teams in motion for the season ahead as well as allowing coaches to experiment and play with new formations and new players.

This year saw Arsenal, Lyon and Celtic battle each other out at the impressive Emirates stadium in London, which saw the Gunners retain the title once again.

The rossoneri faced Arsene Wenger's side in the opening day of the two-day event which saw the rossoneri hold Arsenal to a one all draw. Alexandre Pato scoring with a header for the Milanisti.

The second day saw a depleted Allegri side step onto the field. Through Borriello the rossoneri found the lead but it was squashed twenty minutes later with Lyon finding an equaliser.

Improvements have been seen in Allegri's side, following their shocking 2-0 defeat, to new promoted Serie B side Varese, last week. It is evident in the play that the Via Turati outfit are still fresh into their training campaigns and that they are undoubtedly missing their World Cup players along with Ronaldinho; who will be out for a month due to injury.

There is still three weeks before the season starts allowing for adequate time for Allegri to start to shape and mould the Milan side into the team he wants. Time will tell.
