Prandelli chooses Borriello & Antonini

Cesare Prandelli's reign has finally begun as preparations for Tuesday's friendly against Ivory Coast commence seeing Marco Borriello and Luca Antonini both chosen.

For Antonini this is his first International call-up and a deserved on at that. After putting in consistent performances last year and winning the up and coming player of the year award for Milan there no doubt as to why Antonini has be selected.

For Borriello it is an important call-up for him after being dropped by Marcello Lippi in the final cut for the World Cup squad. The forward has had an impressive season with the rossoneri and has already found the back of the net on several occasions in pre-season with Milan. The ex-Genoa man will be looking to impress Prandelli and hopefully convince the tactician to select him as the Azzurri's main man.

Along with the two rossoneri faces Mario Ballotelli and Antonio Cassano were also selected for the squad, along with Amauri who has finally made the cut following an on and off decision of which nation to play for.

Players called up:
Goalkeepers: Marchetti, Sirigu, Viviano
Defenders: Antonini, Astori, Bonucci, Cassani, Lucchini, Chiellini, Molinaro, Motta
Midfielders: De Rossi, Lazzarri, Marchisio, Montolivo, Palombo, Pepe
Forwards: Amauri, Balotelli, Borriello, Cassano, Quagliarella, Rossi
