The aeroplanino flys back to Sampdoria!

Vincenzo Montella returns to Serie A and he finds himself back to his old roots where he played for the blucerchiati for 3 years. He left Sampdoria for life in the Italian capital 9 years ago, seeing him sign for Roma. However, last year saw a string of injuries hit the striker, which resulted in him loosing his place in the starting line-up. He later fell out with the club and joined Fulham on loan in January of 2007.

Nevertheless, Montella is back and is ready to prove himself as he completed his loan move to Sampdoria earlier on today. He is just as happy as the fans are to see him back, and he claims he has never forgotten them as they formed a special part of his career.

With Flachi suspended, Quagliarella gone to Udinese and Bonazzoli inujured, Sampdoria also netted a few more big names such as Bellucci and Caraciollo. This leaves Sampdoria with a mouth-watering front-line that is going to be one of the most exciting strike forces next season.

Many fans can't wait to see the return of L'aeroplanino, and the blucerchiati tifosi will certainly be hoping that Montella will fly the Sampdorian flag high this season.
