Italian's conquer...

It has been a fine international week as the Italians conquered what was needed to be done; Lippi broke records while Aquilani and co. brought down Montenegro, Casiraghi's boys joined Europe's elite, and Cappello continued his impressive form with England.

The Azzurri's World Cup qualifying match against Montenegro saw one change from the previous team that drew to Bulgaria on the weekend. Alberto Aquilani was brought in for Riccardo Montolivo and the Roman made an instant impact.

The midfielder bagged a brace while Vucinic scored on his old ground in Lecce to see the game end 2-1. It was a strong performance by the Azzurri leaving them top of their group three points above second placed Ireland.

However, the Coach Marcello Lippi had something to celebrate to as he equaled Vittorio Pozzo's unbeaten run of 30 consecutive matches with the Azzurri. A memorable feat for the Word Cup winning coach.

The Under 21's also had something to smile about at the end of the night as they triumphed 3-1 in Israel to see them qualify for European Championships. Inter's young starlet Mario Balotelli netted a brace in the first half. While, Israel's Tamuz pulled one back in the second half only for the Torino's Abate to put the score line beyond reach.

It has been a rough few weeks for Casiraghi as failure to qualify for the Championship would mean a sack but he surely pulled through with his boys.

The glory didn't end there for the Italians as Fabio Capello continued his fine form with England as they went on to beat Belarus 3-1. The new-look England side is a far more serious side to that of Steve Maclaren and it certainly has paid off, as they remain unbeaten in their Qualifying Group.

It has been a great all-round International week for the Italians and with form like that it sure looks like it will continue...
