The last day of the winter transfer market has come to a close and it wasn't without some twist and turns, which saw Palermo bag some players, Quaresma divorce Mourinho, and Pannucci remain in Rome despite his outbursts.

In the final hours of the evening teams and agents worked frantically together to pull off late transfers, some foreseen.. others not.

The shock of the bunch was Roma's Christian Pannucci opting to stay in the Capital despite having several offers from teams in Serie A as well as abroad. Hull City was the team with the most interest however, it was wishful thinking on their part and perhaps for the better the Ex-Azzurri defender opted to stay at Roma.

Down south Palermo kept themselves busy the whole as they bagged a trio of unknown talents in the last few hours of the day. The first was Penarol's shining star Abel Hernandez from Uruguay. The 19-year-old is better known as 'the Jewel' in his hometown. The deal has seen him sign until 2013 where he will join fellow Uruguayan Cavani.

In addition to Hernandez the Aquile also signed Eros Pellagrini from Treviso as well as Frances Sabatucci from Cisco Roma, the latter is one of the highest rated youngsters in the lower divisions.

In London Scolari bagged one of the best players in the World at the moment from Mourinho's Inter. Ever since joining the San Siro outfit Quaresma hasn't been able to find his form of the past and has since been treated by Mourinho as unwanted player.

The Portuguese winger battled to feature for the rossoneri and was since left out of the Champions league squad resulting in him being sent on loan to Chelsea until the end of the season. Blue's fans are hoping he can rediscover his form as they push for the Champions League.
