The UEFA Cup......

Tomorrow night four Italian teams will be out to book themselves a spot in the next round of the UEFA Cup, after all four teams managed impressive wins against their opponents in the first match day.

Udinese vs Borussia Dortmund
Udinese will be the only Italian team to play at home, as they will host German side Borussia Dortmund. The bianconeri come into the game with a comfortable 2-0 lead and will no doubt make it tough for the Bundesliga outfit as Mats Hummels and Mohamed Zidan have added to their injury woes. Two injuries that the side cannot afford as Jurgen Klopp will already have to make do without Dedé, Patrick Owomoyela, Delron Buckle, and Robert Kovač.

Zurich vs Milan
While Milan will also have to make do without a number of key players as Phillippe Sederos, Fillippo Inzaghi, Andrea Pirlo and Marco Borriello have not made the trip to Zurich. However, Milan will be confident regardless of these losses as they will still be bubbling after their derby win against Inter. The Swiss will be looking to over turn their 3-1 deficit as they have an excellent home form and will definitely be no walk over for the rossoneri.

Kuanas vs Sampdoria
Walter Mazzari's men were on top form in their opening game of the UEFA Cup as they ran riot against Lithuanian side FBK Kuanas beating them 5-0. The Genoa based side are seemingly destined for the Group stage but they will not underestimate their opponents but they will have to make do without Angelo Colombo. The midfielder has discovered a tear in his right thigh and will therefore miss the game and Samp's weekend game against Atalanta.

Benfica vs Napoli
The toughest game for the Italian sides will no doubt be Napoli's trip to Benfica. Napoli won the first leg 3-2 at the Stadio San Paolo and have a tough task ahead of them if they are to qualify for the group stage. However Edy Reja has received a boost after Lavezzi past a late fitness test to make the trip to Lisbon. The Argentinian will no doubt be a huge boost for the high flying Azzurri as well as the history. Napoli are yet to not progress to a next round when coming up against a Portuguese team. It will no doubt be a great game as both will be out for the kill.

It is so stronge to see Milan competing in UEFA Cup. Such a team should have qualified for CL instead. Good luck nevertheless.

Thanks, it is very strange to see them in the UEFA Cup. It's sort of a surreal feeling evey time i sit down and watch the Champions League. A team like Milan should never have missed Champions League qualification... hopefully some thing good came out of this and that is that they have woken up and realised every game is vital.
