Emerson to Milan

Emerson eventually completed his transfer to Milan after weeks of on-and-off negotiations. Last week Milan announced that they had pulled out of talks with Real Madrid as neither team could come to an economic agreement. The deal looked dead and buried until Emerson came out publicly and pleaded for Real Madrid to let him go.

Rumours started to surface again after Schuster left him out of the team for the Spanish SuperCup, and Galliani was quoted as saying that he isn't ruling out the possibilities of signing him. It was last night that Galliani flew to Spain to make the final arrangements and seal Il Puma's signature.

The timing of the transfer comes just at the right time, as Emerson is thought to be the natural replacement of Gattuso and it was just today at the azzurri training camp, where Gattuso seems to be having muscular problems. It looks like Emerson will make his debut sooner than expected.

Il Puma isn't one that will be welcomed too warmly by the Milanisti, as his age is a bit of a problem, but if he regains his form and can help reduce the pressure of Gattuso and the rest all should be good for him.
