Italy land 'group of death' once again
Despite the fact that there are few 'weak' teams in the Confederations Cup and only two groups Italy landed in the toughest group possible for ne
xt year's tournament in South Africa.
The World Champions were not aloud to play against another European side (Spain) and therefore; were bound to land up against Brazil when Spain's name got called up in the host's group South Africa. The same rule applied with the two African teams leaving Egypt to face Italy, Brazil and another team, the USA.
However, it is almost seen as destiny as Brazil landed up against Italy, the two teams who have won the World Cup more than any other. While European Champions will have to go against some relatively unknown teams.
The Azzurri will play two games in the capital Pretoria, while facing Egypt in Johannesburg where the final will be staged.
It will be a tough group for the Azzurri as Lippi will be taking on Brazil for the first time in his career, while Egypt are constantly improving and the USA always know how to cause problems for their opponents.
