Pippo breaks Muller's record as well as Celtic

Celtic and Milan have made it through to the round of the last 16 for the Champions League. The rossoneri clinched top spot thanks to a 1-0 victory at the San Siro while Celtic only got though due to Benfica's away win in the Ukraine.

Gordon Strachen's men needed just one point to qualify provided that Shakhtar won but the Scots became Benfica fans for the evening as news reached them that Shakhtar lost 2-1. This allowed them to go through even with the loss at the San Siro.

However, as celebrations continued for both teams around the Guiseppe Meazza there was one man that stole the show; Pippo Inzaghi once again grabbed the only goal of the game to surpass Gert Muller's record of 62 European goals, Pippo is now Europe's leading goalscorer with 63 goals. A record the goal poacher can definitely be proud of and there sure is more to come from the Italian.

Milan will now put all their attention onto the Club World Cup in Japan, where they will be travelling to this week to try and win their 3rd trophy this year. Milan lost out in 2003 to Boca Juniors on penalties and they will be out for revenge.

Ronaldo will make the trip to Japan, but whether or not he will play is still not clear yet.

GRAZIE MILAN for making us proud and CONGRATULATIONS PIPPO for some fine goals.
