Milan look to out sparkle the Red Diamonds

Milan will face the Red Diamonds in the semi-finals of this year's Club World Cup. The Red Diamonds comfortably beat the Iranians of Sepahan 3-1 to see them land in a dream semi-final tie against Europe's reigning Champions; Milan.

The rossoneri will come into the game feeling a bit calmer as Nelson Dida seems to be improving each day after missing some training sessions with lumbargo, which has been a recurring problem for the Brazilian. Nevertheless, Zeljko Kalac is ready to step-up for Dida if the worst comes to the worst for Milan. The Australian has been impressing in training and has is feeling confident.

Dario Simic and Marek Jankulovski also seem to have over come their injury problems. The Czech International will be warmly welcomed as Serginho has returned to the doctors room and after 40 days on the sidelines the full back will be bustling to get back onto the field.

However it was Ronaldo that once again drew the attention of the everybody as El Fenomeno's much publicised injury seems to be doing better as the ex-Inter star took part in his first training session since Milan's tie against Benfica where the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Questions however, still remain on whether or not the injury stricken player will feature for the rossoneri in the coming weeks. But if he isn't ready in time Filippo Inzaghi and Alberto Gilardino are bursting with energy and both are out to win another trophy for their beloved club.

Carlo Ancelotti's men are looking calm and collected before Thursday evening, and both teams are very hungry for success. The Asian Champions will be looking to impress against the rossoneri in their first World Tournament while Milan are wanting to bury their demons from 2003 as they battle it out to clinch the title.

I hope Milan can do the job this time. The semi-final thing really should be a formality but they can't afford to take anything for granted. All the best, Rossoneri!
