Nesta saves rossoneri blushes

Alessandro Nesta was the hero for Milan last night as his 90th minute goal saved Milan from loosing to the Tuscan outfit, who were yet to even get one point in this season's championship.

The rossoneri dominated the match, but looked lost in front of goal without Pirlo and Kaka around. In the first minute Gilardino had to force the goalkeeper to make two great saves, while Seedorf's shot couldn't go over the goalkeeper.

However, it was the Tuscans that took the lead through a controversial goal. Some bad goalkeeping and a poor clearance by Kaladze saw an offside Massimo Maccarone slot the ball home. The linesmen gave the goal and the European Champions where behind to a team that avoided relegation on the last day of last season.

Milan continued to try and avoid the loss and their best shot was cleared off the line by a Siena player until, in the last minute Alessandro Nesta volleyed home the ball to score his 4th Milan goal, his first since April 2006, to save the rossoneri's blushes.

The firepower is lacking upfront as Gila is suffering from low confidence while Pippo, too, is misfiring and Ronaldo is out injured. If it continues like this then January will be a long wait for Milan until Pato comes.
