Palermo vs Milan... the show must go on.
The Sicilians of the Renzo Barbera Stadium will host the European Champions, Milan, tomorrow evening in what is to be a vital encounter for the
rossoneri. The rossoneri are without a win in their previous 3 matches and hints of a crisis has already struck the outfit just 4 matches into the Serie A campaign.
Palermo come into the game after managing to seal a win in Sardinia, against Cagliari, where they brought to a close the idea of the Sardinian "Curse". Christian Zaccardo netted the only goal of the game and he is hungry for more of that winning "feeling."
For the Champions however, it seems that every team they seem to come across is an uphill climb and the rosaneri will certainly be a much harder team to beat than Siena and Parma, though, their home record isn't much to be proud of during this point in the season. And Milan will be hoping to capitalise on that poor home form.
Neither teams have any suspensions however, Milan are still without Serginho, Maldini and Ronaldo. The latter will once again be missed as Milan are battling to find the back of the n
et.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti has announced that Kaka will not rest, and Milan will once again adopt the Christmas tree formation, though he is unsure of who to start. Inzaghi or Gilardino? Both are yet to score in Serie A this season.
While Palermo host a star studded attack, with Amuari and Miccoli, both who are in great form. They could be key for Palermo should they grab a victory, as Amauri poses a physical presence while Miccoli is a great goal scorer in and around the area. Will Milan eventually get their defense right tomorrow, or will Miccoli and Amuari have a field day and cause huge problems for Dida?
This game will go down to little details, as it did last season. It was Kaka's missed penalty that prevented Milan from leap frogging Palermo at that stage of the season and prevented Milan from getting that win. It was Daniele Bonera's excellent tackles that inhibited Palermo's scoring chances. Little details.... who will prosper?
The Champions must pull up their socks and find that winning mentality. The show must go and this is were it continues in Act 5... The northeners vs the Southerners. Milan vs Palermo.
