There are NO excuses!!!

Milan have just drawn their fourth game of the season to Catania. They fell behind in the 26th minute from a goal by Martinez. Milan later had a Pippo Inzaghi goal ruled out, due to Kaladze hand balling the ball from Pirlo's free-kick.

Pippo later squandered the perfect chance to draw the two teams level on the last kick of the half.

At the start of the second half, Carlo put on Oddo and Gilardino which seemed to change the face of the game as Milan started to look more determined. Favalli won Milan a penalty as his cross was hand balled by Edusei and Kaká brought the two teams level after a great spot kick on his 200th appearance for the rossoneri.

Milan had a second goal disallowed due to Favalli fouling one of the Catania players in the box, and Catania too had a few chances when they found a break and counter attacked.

There are no excuses to Milan's poor displays anymore. They have only won one game, I repeat one game, so far this season and have drawn four and lost one. This is not good.

In attack, Milan are battling to score, and it isn't only Gila's fault as Pippo is also yet to score in Serie A so the criticism must stop. He works hard throughout all his games and is just lacking luck. Ronaldo is injured, and if he doesn't return soon we could be in for more disappointment. Though the team can't just rely on one man, and I don't think Ronaldo can change the whole team, but he adds something different upfront from what Pippo and Gila provides.

The midfield, I haven't got much to complain about as most of the players are doing fine. Seedorf and Kaka can be frustrating at times as they are not finding some of the space they found last year. But then again, they are Milan's top goalscorers so how can I criticise?

The defense, is not good! There has only been one game where they have not conceded and that is to a team where it took them until the fourth game of the season to score their first Serie A goal! Though there is an injury crisis in the backline with Dida, Serginho, Maldini, Simic and now Kaladze all out. However, they should not be conceding petty goals like some of the ones they have conceded.

The scary thing is that three of the four teams Milan drew to were the three teams that avoided relegation on the last day of last season...not acceptable for the European Champions. While Fiorentina and Palermo are two of the top teams in Italy and can easily cause Milan some trouble.

Milan will travel to Celtic in midweek in the second Champions League groups stage games, and it is not looking good for the current holders. Celtic are banging in goals left right and centre while Milan are battling to score and defend too. This will no doubt be a difficult game and with the way Milan are going... don't expect positive results.

If we are lucky we can get a draw, if we are lucky...
Now I apologise for the gripe, it is just getting annoying, Carlo needs to spring motivation into the team before it is too late. Provided, Milan did do the same thing at the beginning of last season, but they can't keep on relying on that as a back up. This time there are no excuses.

However, FORZA MILAN PER SEMPRE! And sorry to Il Nostro Presidente Silvio Berlusconi that we could not deliver you a great birthday present.
